THE RAAVOLUTION FESTIVAL
From 2013, members from 'Tonight's Sunshine’ have produced over 160 events offering their labor, music, and equipment to use celebration as a platform for education and wellness in Tucson and the surrounding communities. In the Fall of 2018, the band Tonight’s Sunshine partnered with The Red Road to Wellbriety Annual Celebrations, Cloud Microphones, and RAA Productions to take their small stage and equipment to provide entertainment to for the 12th Annual Red Road to Wellbriety Celebration at the San Xavier Community Center on the Tohono O'Odham Reservation. It was the 3rd event where members of the RAA Productions team provided music to support the important message of the Red Road to Wellbriety Celebration.
RED ROAD TO WELLBRIETY ANNUAL CELEBRATIONS
The Annual Red Road to Wellbriety Celebration is the spiritual and mental journey toward embracing life to the fullest. Embracing a healthy lifestyle and celebrating those in recovery. Our focus is working with the American Indian community but we welcome all in recovery and healthy living.
The success of the 2018 event on the Tohono O'Odham Reservation inspired the Tonight’s Sunshine to take stage and celebration on the road around the Southwest creating The Tribal Nations Music Tour.
Kairand worked together with Eddie Grijalva, Gabe Yaiva, and Tonight’s Sunshine to reach out to Tribal Reservations and underserved communities creating the first route across the Southwest in the Spring and Summer of 2019.
Tonight’s Sunshine invited a few amazing artists, now friends, to join them on the inaugural tours. They toured with The Dream Team, The Dry River Band, and Luxy Vinyl, with single show appearances from AM Waves, Esmeralda Humming Bird, and Wampa Sun. They are now joined by both international and national artists: Hezron Clarke from Jamaica, Artson Brave Star from the Brave Star Experience, Annie Jump Cannon, and Noah Martin.

The impact of their first summer of hard work of hauling staging and gear across the Southwest has attracted international attention to the tour and its mission. It has helped generate a conversation around how the arts can have a profound impact on engaging the community through the young artists. The artists are amazing influencers to support important and needed messages of the host communities.
In the 2019 first summer, TNMT produced 4 separate tours, making a connection between community partners and the young people involved. What impact has it had on you personally being involved?
Being a part of the Tribal Nations Music Tour has introduced me to many things that I would have otherwise not seen. I have met a different people and witnessed the beauty of their culture. I have experienced community and the bonding within it. I have passed myself unto others as they have passed parts of themselves unto me, and learnt from people who know more than I- that I am eager to learn more from. Out of all these things that I receive- at times it does not occur to me, or I forget- that they too are grateful for the things I leave behind with them. They voice it to me and make sure that it is heard. So for that, on top of everything else, I am also grateful. They ask me, “What tribe are you?” And I say, “I don’t know.” Then they respond, “The next time someone asks you that- say, “‘A good one.’” Seeing that what we do really does have an impact, is very encouraging. We’re just some kids that invited some friends to come along and try to make a difference. What we started with was simply trying to share a sense of community, kindness and awareness through music. But the more we do, the more change we are able to make. We can go beyond music and now begin to really help communities through being able to provide essential resources that in many places are lacking. We are kids. It is true. But we’re also very good at all the things we do. We are students, we are engineers, we are musicians, we are people who care deeply for others. We don’t know how to do everything just yet, but we’re learning quick and we’re excited for the change that is so important for communities that often get so easily overlooked.
To Me TNMT is directly correlated to my past, I was a product of deceit and my mother Was undocumented, I lived in 18 years of fear knowing the possibility that I could come home and she could be gone troubled me deeply, we couldn't do anything normal families could we were stuck in Arizona living in the shadows of the law. I felt that this was so unfair she got up everyday volunteered in her community and worked two jobs for 18 years but never was able to call this country home. My parents worked from dawn to evening everyday for practically my entire life so I had a lot of free time and that's where I developed my love for learning, making things, and solving problems. Today Tnmt is my work, and it is my way to push the future in the right direction. Multitudes of injustice, corruption, and suppression are pushing people farther and farther apart allowing the same process to grow and become stronger. There are imminent problems everyday that need to be addressed, like how can we be more sustainable, why are people sick, Underpaid, undereducated and suppressed in a modern society like "America" ? TNMT is the platform I would like use to put our collective voices together to stand up for the things we individually believe in and to Inform the people. I want to perform where ever a voice is needed, whether it be for wellbriety, Civil rights, Native rights, Women's rights, LGBTQ rights, or exposing corruption through protests I want to be there to bring the healing and strength of music to places that need it. To me This is more than a celebration of music, this is a force for good because I am tired of watching celebrities politicians and millionaires do nothing about the impending doom that we will ALL be facing In the coming years. The time to act is Now. Our planet is in grave danger, our people are dying and we are killing nearly everything in our paths.
TNMT Communications Manager - The act of gathering together and collectively enjoying music and art is very powerful as group celebration is very uplifting and inspirational. I think the Tribal Nations Music Tour makes this platform available to community leaders for them to inspire change and wellbeing into their communities. Personally, I don’t have much knowledge about issues that pollute our society, but I would like to work with social justice leaders around the world in order to best utilize our platform to inspire change.
