The Dream Team is a premier Native American Urban Music Group. The group consists of hip-hop artists, producers, and R&B singers. The group spans several Nations and Tribes including Navajo, Hopi, Zuni, Northern Cheyenne, Yaqui, and Taino. They have been tearing up stages consistently for the last twenty years but more recently as the newer members of the Team, who collectively have a combined 30 years of professional performance, touring and recording under their belts.
The Dream Team delivers respectable urban music that keeps the dance floors full and the consciousness’ expanding, hard-knocking beats and infectious songs will always Get It Going.
The current Dream Team consists of Yaiva (Gabriel Yaiva), NK (Johnathan Williams), Orion (Ryan Francher), J-V3L (Junito Velazquez) and Dramavelli (David King). The Dream Team originators include JayNez (Jovanii Nez, 2005 Native American Music Award recipient) DJ Kiss (Keith Martinez 2005 - 2007 New Mexico Mix Champion) and Yaiva (owner and Executive Producer of Native World Enterprise/4th World Entertainment).
The Dream Team’s focus for many years has been working with youth, schools, conferences and programs that support and foster arts and music. Currently, the Team frequently participates in the program planning and implementation of the Tribal Nations Music Tour, a non-profit youth arts program based in Tucson, AZ. with which Yaiva and NK sit on the Board of Directors.
Spanning over 20 years of touring, The Dream Team has toured with Bones Thugs and Harmony, Too Short, Young Jeezy and opened at the New Orleans Jazz Festival at the invitation of Carlos Santana and Aaron Neville and at the Reggae on the in northern California inside the Marley Brothers, Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys and Lauryn Hill of the Fugees and have toured throughout almost nearly every state in the United States and have toured New Brunswick, Ontanio, British Columbia, Canada and finally, the Dream Team has been featured on at least two sizable and respectable line-ups monthly in the southwest region including as key featured artists and or headliners in local clubs, youth conferences, Tribal Casinos and music festivals
Yaiva is a husband, a father, a graduate of Northern Arizona University, a pow-wow singer, hip-hop artist and producer. Yaiva has been making music since he was 13 years old and professionally since 19 as one of the few Native artists’ to have a legitimate recording contract, signing with Digg Down Records in Seattle recording and being produced by renowned producer, Tommy T of the Sir-Mix-A-Lot production camp. He has recorded, produced and released 17 albums, compilations, mixtapes and EP’s since. Yaiva is also a successful business professional in Indian country having assisted first-hand in the development of the Twin Arrows Casino in Flagstaff alongside mentor Tony Skrelunas, former Navajo Nation Economic Development Director and now as partner and co-owner of Navajo Power PBC, a utility scale solar pre-development company building large scale solar farms on the Navajo Nation (www.navajopower.com). Yaiva’s first solo album in 2004 held the title of being the most sold album in the southwest for 2 years straight.
NK is the newest and hottest Hip-Hop artists’ to come on the scene in the southwest and comes to us from the Navajo Nation. NK came on the scene officially in the summer of 2018 and joined forces with Native World Ent, performing and recording songs that have quickly become staples of the underground and mainstream scene of the southwest. NK released an EP, titled “Motivated” in the winter of 2019 and has been gaining lots of traction in sales and downloads, he has done over 100 successful shows since 2018 and is a sought after feature from artists’ Nationally. NK joined on a Canadian tour in the winter of 2019 with other artists’ from the Native World roster to an overwhelming positive reception.
J-V3L or J-Vel is an incredibly talented Rhythm and Blues from the Indigenous peoples of Puerto Rico. J-V3L has been making music from a young age and toured as an opening act for a national tour with Young Jeezy. J-V3L had successfully made it past the semi-finals of The Voice, and was slated to enter the televised competition when his father became ill and eventually passed. His dedication to family led him to choose to be by his father’s bedside in his final days and was unable to complete the competition. Since 2018 he has been making music with the Dream Team and currently has an album in the works to be released in the winter of 2020.
Orion is the third featured emcee of the Dream Team and is an amazing hip-hop lyricist. Since 2007, Orion has been making music with Native World and has been featured on 5 internationally selling albums, mixtapes and compilations two of which were nominated for Native American Music Awards. Orion has a strongly consistent and ever expanding fan base that rivals those of very established acts in the country.
